The lunar eclipse on Monday will be one of the most powerful eclipses of the year from an astrologer’s perspective. A lunar eclipse asks one question and one question only: Are you on iffy ground? If you are, then you will see that situation collapse on itself pretty quickly. Let it go because it was getting in the way of your personal growth. But what if you happen to see something, which you didn’t have a lot of faith in at first, suddenly start to take off this week? Then you should know that this is where you need to be directing your focus and your energies because this dark horse could wind up surpassing your expectations.
ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
It’s going to feel like the stars have turned your life into a screwball comedy on Monday when Venus forms a square to Mars. This is a feisty planetary combination, famous for throwing together people who profess to despise each other, but often discover that the opposite is true. Think of it as Pillow Talk meets It’s Complicated and you’ll have a clear idea of what to expect. This is bound to wreak havoc on your heart and your head, but you can handle it. Besides, it’s been a while since your love life was this fun. And if things weren’t crazed enough, you will discover on Thursday that someone who turned you down back in the spring (perhaps you applied for a job, loan or school?) is very interested in winning you back. In fact, this person appears hell-bent on making you an offer you can’t refuse. Usually, you’d say yes, but it looks like you went with someone else in the interim. This will create a thorny dilemma for you this weekend when you will have to decide if this new development is worth breaking your word.
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
Sometimes, we create drama in one quarter of our lives so we don’t have to deal with what’s really going on. It’s kind of like a psychological game of bait-and-switch. Well, it’s time to address the elephant in the room. Tuesday will prove to be a bittersweet day when you realize that a fixation (or a feud) that has absorbed you for weeks is much ado about nothing. The “aha” moment will be jarring, but you’re also ready to get rid of the background chatter and focus on what needs to be done to create the life you want to live. This looks like a change in your relationship, career or residence. This is bound to bring up issues of security (like, can you financially afford to make these changes?), but you’ll soon see that you are up to the task at hand. It will take work, but you can do it. Meanwhile, don’t be so quick to turn down an invitation to showcase your talents on Thursday. You may be asked to participate in a marathon, a fundraiser, or a karaoke sing-off. Yes, it may have been a while since you did something this artistic or athletic, but it’s the perfect excuse to brush up your game. You may be surprised to discover that you still have what it takes.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 21)
Lunar eclipses have a very special job to do in Astrology and that is to clear away the deadwood in order to pave the path to a new and invigorating future. It sounds exciting until you realize that what’s being cleared away may be the things that you thought were the most secure. Since the lunar eclipse on Monday will occult in your solar house of relationships, then you will see whether your relationship, marriage or business partnership has what it takes to make you happy in the long run. If it doesn’t, then you will see it unravel and fall apart. And if it’s a keeper? Then you can rest assured that this association will go the distance. In any case, you will know for certain by June 19. On Thursday, your Ruling Planet, Mercury, will enter the zodiac sign of Cancer. Cancer is the sign of hearth, home and real estate, so if you’re looking to rent or purchase a house, then this would be the perfect time to shop around. Mercury in Cancer is also good for investing in a property, but if you’re going to do that, then you should really wait until after June 11. You’ll get more favorable terms.
CANCER (June 22 – July 22)
A lunar eclipse is a make or break time and given what will be going down on Monday and Tuesday, you may be tempted to stop what you’re doing and to go back the way you came. But don’t. Yes, it will feel as if the stars have suddenly pulled the rug out from under a cherished hope or a heartfelt ambition. However, this looks more like the removal of a guarantee — something that made you feel safe and secure about taking the next step forward in your life — than something prohibitive like an obstacle being put in your path. If there was ever a time to butch it up and to press forward, then Thursday would be it. Friday through Sunday will be a very psychic time for you. This is when Mercury, the planet of the mind, will be forming a trine to Neptune, the planet of the imagination. This lowers the threshold between your conscious and your unconscious so you can expect to get a lot of deep and profound information through your dreams. It can also make you really spacey, so check to make sure that your keys are in your purse before leaving the house in the morning.
LEO (July 23 – August 22)
Your fortunes are bundled up with the fortunes of others right now, just like a software package. This is the time to show friends and associates the love, as well as for you to be in their corners. You want to be magnanimous, supportive and can-do. The more you help them, the more they’ll help you — and the more that everyone will benefit. In fact, life is going to feel like one big group hug until Thursday when one of those people you’re supposed to be supporting makes a power grab. It’s to be expected when Mars forms this kind of an antagonistic square to the Sun. But don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions because it looks as though there’s a third party who is playing you and this person against each other. Naturally, you’ll want to find out who this behind-the-scenes strings-puller is and the best way to do that is to sit down with your “opponent” and compare notes. You should be able to discern who the culprit is by the beginning of next week.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
This could turn into Snark Attack week on the Virgo horoscope channel if you aren’t careful. You’ll begin on a positive note, feeling upbeat and proud of a recent accomplishment. However, this will quickly vanish under the shadow of Monday’s lunar eclipse, which is bound to make you feel unappreciated and like loved ones couldn’t care less. This will be followed by a Venus/Mars square, which could dredge up childhood feelings of sibling rivalry and anxieties that you will never measure up to a favored brother or sister. Is it any wonder that you would be feeling snippy and cranky by Thursday? Family baggage is never easy to deal with, but, then again, where does it say that you have to? Whether it’s your family’s perception of you that won’t change, or your perception of them, you’re better off deciding not to even try. This simple action of non-participation will do more for you than a thousand years of therapy and endless conversations about who did what to whom and when. It will also earn you the respect that you deserve.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
A deal or agreement comes undone on Monday, but don’t fight to save it. The stars are doing you a favor by pulling the plug on a venture that was questionable to begin with. Whether it was misplaced feelings of loyalty that blinded you to this, or the stubborn insistence that things would work themselves out, it will become clear by Wednesday when you see for yourself that this arrangement was not in your best interests. But just because your potential partner, client or backer was misguided, it doesn’t mean your plans were. If anything, it was human error that was gumming up the works. Nevertheless, this financial “setback” could turn out to be a stepping stone to something more rewarding on Thursday. Now for a word about this weekend’s trippy experience. Mercury will be forming a trine to Neptune in Pisces from Thursday thru next Monday. This is what we call an altered states transit and it’s potentially very creative. It could also mess with your doors of perception. This would be a good time to take long hikes, to break out the watercolors, or to write poetry. It would not be a good time to be left alone with pharmaceuticals or to operate heavy machinery.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
This is not the time to sell off your share of a property or business, nor is it a good time to cash in on an investment because what you expect to receive will not be there. Venus is currently retrograde in that part of your solar chart that pertains to joint ventures and her backwards motion shows that a partner or client has not been able to keep up with his part of the bargain. This seems to be based more on cash flow than any kind of mismanagement. Obviously, you’ll want to sit down with him to find out what’s up and Thursday would be a good day to do this because Mercury in Cancer will put you in a more supportive and forgiving mood. This will change your thinking in a good way so that you will be less fixated on what went wrong and more focused on how to make things right. This will bring out the best in your collaborative relationship. You’ll see the fruits of this next week when this person will present you with a watertight plan that promises to move you out of the red and into the black by mid July.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
This is going to be a rough week as past actions will come back to haunt you. Much of what you will be dealing with stems from decisions you avoided making (or cheerfully postponed) in March. Tuesday will probably be the most challenging day as you will have to face some pretty harsh and unflattering truths. Take them on the chin in your customary sportsmanlike manner and you will walk away with some valuable information on how you can improve. Meanwhile, it looks like things are at the tipping point in a very close relationship and you’re going to have to decide if you’re in or out. Ironically, it looks like you’re the one who’s hesitant about the future — although you say otherwise. You were born under the horsey girl sign of the zodiac and, like a horse galloping on an obstacle course, there’s a tendency to stop short of a hurdle if you can’t see what’s on the other side. It would be a good idea to take that hurdle at full speed instead. It’s the only way to break through those fears and insecurities that have reined you in for far too long. It’s time to show people what a true champion you are.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
You can poke, prod and test all you like, but the only way to find out if a venture is worth pursuing is to pursue it. Unfortunately, every red flag you can think of will be waving on Monday and Tuesday. This is when a potential client or customer will be at their most irritable, neurotic and uppity. Needless to say, this person will not come across as being very appealing and you will want to walk away. Thankfully, you were born under a zodiac sign that can read people’s insecurities like a Vulcan mind meld because you’ve lived with your own for years. And it’s this insider’s knowledge of what that can be like that will lead you to peer past the rough exterior and recognize the diamond within. Meanwhile, the later part of the week looks like an ideal time to travel. It’s been a while since you’ve set off for parts unknown and you could do with a change of scene. Challenge yourself to check out a destination you’ve never been to before. You’ll be thrilled and delighted by what you discover.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
Some members of your entourage feel like you’re getting too big for your britches and so they will try to take you down a peg or two on Tuesday. It might be upsetting if you were the one out of step with developments, but you’re not. It’s them. Your star is on the rise and you no longer have to put up with lesser lights like you used to. Take this opportunity to shake loose these hangers-on who have overstayed their welcome. Meanwhile, you’ll want to keep close tabs on what unfolds on Thursday. It looks as though a financial matter you thought had been resolved last March was left hanging. Pay what you owe if you owe it because you don’t want to mess around with Mars when it’s traveling through that part of the sky that pertains to debts and taxes. However, this doesn’t mean that you should just absorb the cost. Someone was clearly remiss, so you’ll want to get on the phone with the accountant, insurance company or financial institution that dropped the ball. You have them down to rights and all it takes is a little thumbscrew tightening to get them to cover the cost or to reimburse you.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
The best way to think of Neptune turning retrograde on Monday is to imagine a wave pulling back into itself. It may feel as if you’re retreating from the advances you’ve made in recent weeks, but you’re actually gathering strength and force for what will prove to be an extraordinary push forward in your life in November. The fall of 2012 will be a time when you will be in your element and unstoppable. It will truly be extraordinary. So don’t be thrown off by the sudden evaporation of opportunities that will take place mid-week. This is the planet’s way of clearing out the back up plans and exit strategies that are taking up too much room in your psychic closet. You’ve put so much time and energy into figuring what to do if something went wrong that you’re in danger of missing out on what’s going right. Let it go — let it all go — because these aims of yours were nothing more than quick-fix schemes. You are on to bigger and better things as you will see for yourself next Monday. What takes place over the next few weeks will bring you the kind of longstanding security and sustainability that you always longed for.
