Another Doomsday du jour bites the dust when the winter solstice comes and goes without incident on Dec. 21. This is when the Mayan calendar will join Y2K, the Rapture and the Millerites on the boulevard of broken apocalyptic dreams. It will be a sad day for doom-and-gloomers everywhere, but do we really need any more drama after all of the Super Moons, cardinal T-squares and planetary retrogrades that took place in 2012? Thankfully, 2013 presents a rosier picture when even the most challenging cosmic aspects will provide opportunities for growth and spiritual transformation. Think of it as a vote of confidence from the stars that life on earth is a life worth living.
