Mars, the planet of power and drive, enters Aries on March 11. This will make you headstrong, reckless and ready to tackle the steep challenges in life. Mars is the planet of “that’s what I want, and I want it now.” It pumps up your drive, pours gasoline on your burning desires and makes you talk really loudly — like when you’re at a rock concert. Mars will always aim for something higher. Now there’s nothing wrong with naked ambition as long as you don’t try to dress it up as something else. Do that and you will create more resistance and pushback than you would if you were just honest about what you want. This Mars energy will be impacting people born under Aries, Leo, Scorpio and Sagittarius. If you weren’t born under any of these signs, then watch out because they won’t be taking no for an answer. Wishes often come true when Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, is powerful like it will be this week. The problem is that they won’t come true in the way that you expect, and therein lies your dilemma. Maybe your gain results in somebody else’s loss, or the prize in reach will cost you something of equal value or perhaps it’s something as simple as what you get isn’t quite what you had imagined. But then again — that’s the funny thing about wishes. The very thing that was supposed to make you happy often brings a new set of headaches because you didn’t really anticipate what the consequences would be. But one person’s predicament is another person’s adventure, and if you embrace the spirit in which is it is offered, then you could see your wish going on to fulfill you in ways you never dreamed were possible. This would be a good time to depart for destinations unknown. With five planets taking up residence in Pisces this week, things are bound to be a muddle at work and at home. It will be impossible to firm up commitments or to get a straight answer from anyone. Now you could stand there waiting outside a closed door where the lights are on but nobody’s home, or you could go do something fun and diverting. The Stars suggest doing something fun and diverting. Not only will you discover the means to do it (these sorts of things have a funny way of materializing when Venus is in Pisces), but this is the last break in the action that you will have before the summer. Mars begins its translation of light on March 20 which means that you will be burning the candle at both ends through June.
Have you been a good girl? If yes, then you will have nothing to worry about on Feb. 20 when the Sun conjoins Neptune. Neptune is the planet of scandal in Astrology, and anything done in the moment — especially if it’s wild and crazy — is sure to take on a wide-reaching ripple effect. This could cause quite a stir if you’re not careful, which is why you’ll want to check in with friends and acquaintances to make sure that they didn’t film or record you doing anything questionable. Neptune rules the internet because of its association with the ethereal realm, and anything that can go viral will — as long as its influence is strong. You’ll also want to curb your impulse to fire off angry emails or send raunchy texts because there’s a very good chance that they’ll wind up in the wrong mailbox given the fact that Mercury will also be turning retrograde on Feb. 23.
Let’s face it. You’ve had better Valentine’s Days when you were feeling all slinky and kinky and ready for love. But it’s hard to get into the mood given all the planetary stress factors. Pluto in Capricorn is making you feel like you’ve got the weight of the world on your shoulders, and Saturn in Scorpio isn’t exactly conducive to love and romance. In fact, you’d probably feel hotter taking a cold shower. Moreover, your boyfriend is grumpy, snarky, preoccupied and always eyeing the clock (not to mention the check). He’s acting like a real toad. So what’s a girl to do? You toss the flowers, the chocolates and all the expectations, and you kiss the frog — warts and all. This more than anything will tell him that you get what he’s going through. And, like in the fairytale, you’ll find that a kiss on the lips is all it takes to transform him into a prince. Read more
You will have a hell of a time trying to get anyone to commit to anything while Mars and Mercury are both under the influence of Neptune this week. It’s a slippery slope that will only get slipperier. Resolute Mars becomes vague and meandering while Mercury — always a planet to fixate on details and specifics — will be positively amnesiac. This is not the time to force people into agreements that they don’t want to make because even if you do succeed in getting them to say yes in the moment, they will turn out to be no-shows when you need them most. Nor should you try to keep anyone in your life who doesn’t want to be there. All of the guilt-tripping in the world won’t succeed in making someone feel something that s/he doesn’t. You would be much better off setting this person free. It’s the loving thing to do. Read more
